Omaha has quickly become the second most popular poker game played on Full Till Poker and many players whether new to poker or new to Omaha Poker only have been filling up the Omaha tables across many of the popular poker rooms. Today we’re going to look at some beginner tips that you need to follow to help increase your chances of winning when playing Omaha poker rather then losing money.

The action at the Omaha poker tables are often more active and fierce then any other poker game played and this is due to many players not adapting to the game. You’ll often see 3-4 players in a hand with straights and flushes and thus causes the pots to become big. One of the biggest mistakes Omaha poker players make when they play this game is that they overvalue there hands. When you’re playing Texas Holdem a straight or flush is a pretty premium hand, but when you’re playing Omaha this hand becomes much more commonly seen.

So you need to ensure that you don’t overvalue two pairs, straights or flushes when playing Omaha poker on FullTillPoker.com because many times players will win with full houses, quads and straight flushes. Make sure if you’re calling a big bet that you have something near the nuts because most likely your opponent is betting on nothing when betting big in Omaha.

Another mistake many Omaha players make on FullTillPoker.ru is that they play way to high of a percentage of hands when sitting down at the table. You need to lower the amount of hands you play and to do this you need to develop a strict hand selection policy that you follow when playing. There is no point calling every bet pre-flop because you have some options at making a hand. Every hand in Omaha poker will give you options so you need to determine which hands you want to play. I don’t suggest paying money to chase a low straight or flush because many times an opponent will have the higher straight or flush even if you make the hand.

There is really no reason to raise pre-flop no matter how good your hand looks unless you’re just trying to make opponents fold there hands and steal the pot. The reason it isn’t to smart to raise pre-flop is because anything can come on the flop and you might have had the nuts pre-flop and after the flop nothing. I only suggest raising or making big bets once you have made your hand in Omaha.

Many of the new players on FullTill who have been playing on the Omaha tables over the internet are very loose players and commit many of the mistakes I’ve listed above. You should try and not only avoid making these mistakes when playing, but you should also try catching your opponents making the mistakes listed above when you’re playing as it can help you earn more value out of your hands. Try implementing these tips next time you play Omaha poker and then once you get these tips down pat you’ll be able to move onto more advanced strategies.
